Ufa budget for Year 2009 will maintain its social orientation

Yesterday, at the X session of the Council of Ufa city municipal district of Bashkortostan Republic, one of the most important annual decisions was passed – the members of the Council approved Ufa budget for Year 2009.
Another important decision was approving basic indices of Ufa social and economic development forecast for Year 2009 and until 2011. In other words, this is the plan for social and economic development of the capital of our republic for the next two years. The indices of the forecast, as well as the draft budget, had been examined in detail at the sessions of the Council Presidium and its standing commissions. Both documents are of strategic character and serve as the basic normative acts of the municipal district for 2009.
The budget of the capital for the coming year will be deficit-free and socially oriented. It will amount, both in revenue and expenditures, to 13.7 billion rubles. Over 60 per cent of the expenditures will be allocated to the development of the social sphere.
According to the legislation, prior to the approval at the session of the Council, draft budget had been discussed by Ufa citizens at public hearings. The commission on the public hearings performance has examined all 25 proposals received there and took them into consideration while increasing budget financing of the maintenance of children clinics, construction of kindergartens and sports grounds. For the first time in Ufa history, the budget envisages capital renovation of kindergartens and schools.
