President of Bashkortostan Republic Murtaza Rakhimov will celebrate his 75th anniversary on February 7th.
All his life is connected with Bashkortostan – his roots, his life and his work belongs to the republic. The years that passed were different. There were hard 90ies, when the economic collapse was a great threat, and each region of Russia chose its own way of getting out. The economic strategy of our republic was later called “a Bashkortostan model” of reformation, the basis of which included two principles: firstly, non-demolition, but transformation of plan and control economy into a market one, and secondly, preservation of social guarantees to the people.
The growth ratios in our republic are higher than average ratios of Russia. The republic is in the top ten among other regions of the Russian Federation according to the Gross Regional Product and main national measures. According to the production of agriculture products our republic is in the top three regions.
There are a lot of problems in our lives, and the standards of life leave much to be desired. The economic crisis only enhances this situation. Murtaza Rakhimov is not a person who throws promises, because he knows the problems not by hearsay. Special steps have been made in the Republic during the past few years to support low-income residents, half of the republican budget is committed to accomplishment of social tasks. A lot has been done, but there is still much work ahead. The President of the Republic works 10-12 hours each day, and visits different districts of Bashkortostan on a weekly basis. Such pace of living is not bearable for everyone. But presidentship is not only a high status, it is also a burden of responsibility. The residents of our republic supported Murtaza Rakhimov three times during elections. This is the main evidence of work understanding, which helps him take ultimate solutions.
