Swiss Diplomats Impressed by Development of Ufa City

Deputy Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration Albina S. Yusupova held a meeting on December 8, 2009 with the First Secretary of the Embassy of Switzerland Leo Trembley and the Attaché of the Embassy of Switzerland Seline Iseli who had arrived in Ufa for a familiarization visit.
The meeting was attended by the acting representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Ufa Ilshat R. Mindibayev, heads of Industry and Foreign Economic Relations Departments Alexandr V. Zarubin and Ruslan Z. Mirsayapov.
Ms. Yusupova informed the delegation on social and economic development of Ufa City and complex target programs that are implemented in housing and utilities infrastructure and social support of population sectors.
This is the first visit of Mr. Trembley to Bashkortostan Republic, and he is very impressed by the city and its residents, Mr. Trembley was quoted as saying. The First Secretary also mentioned a forthcoming visit of the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Russian Federation Walter B. Gyger that is scheduled for summer 2010. The Ambassador is planned to be accompanied by representatives of Swiss business circles who are interested in establishing direct and mutually beneficial relations with enterprises of Bashkortostan and Ufa.
