New Sports Complex Welcomes Octyabrsky District Residents!
This Tuesday, a new sports center was opened in Octyabrsky district of Ufa city, built within the framework of “Promotion of fitness and sports in the Russian Federation” Federal Target Program for 2006-2015.
President of Bashkortostan Republic Mr. Murtaza Rakhimov, Chairman of State Assembly – Kouroultay of Bashkortostan Republic Mr. Konstantin Tolkachev, Minister of young people policy, sports and tourism of Bashkortostan Republic Mr. Aleksandr Nikerin, Minister of construction, architecture and transport of Bashkortostan Republic Mr. Ravil Ibatoullin, head of Ufa city municipal district Administration of Bashkortostan Republic Mr. Pavel Kachkaev participated in the opening ceremony.
The new sports complex is located on the territory of High School No. 31 at Rihard Zorge Street. Teams of Specialized Olympic reserve children and youth sports school No. 1 will train here. This sports school has graduated numerous winners of international, European and Russian championships. Two graduates, Ruslan Zaharov and Semyon Yelistratov, are in Russian Team for Vancouver Olympics–2010.
Special words of gratitude were addressed at the ceremony to President of Bashkortostan Republic Mr. Murtaza Rakhimov for his constant care for the health and well-being of Octyabrsky district residents. Numerous sports and fitness centers, including newly-renovated Akbouzat horse racetrack, springboard dives sports school, Olympic reserve children and youth sports school No. 32 in Sipailovo microdistrict, have been opened in Octyabrsky district in the past few years.
The total project cost for the sports center amounted to 38 million rubles, allocated from federal and regional budgets. The two-storey building incorporates multi-functional sports and training halls, gears room, locker rooms, recreation and first aid rooms, rehabilitation center with saunas, administrative offices.
