Ufa’s Industrial Complex : Stable Position Retained

For the first time over a decade Ufa has shown a slight decrease of the volume of industrial production and shipped products. Its index has accounted for 97.6%. Large and medium-sized enterprises have shipped goods produced by them and rendered services for the amount of almost 233 bln. rubles, that accounts for 81.3% if compared to the corresponding figure of 2008, the head of Industry department of Ufa City Municipal District Administration Alexander Zarubin reported at the regular operative meeting in Ufa Administration.

The highest growth of the industrial production index was registered in production of chemicals, transport vehicles, machinery and equipment, and petrochemicals. Over 50 % of the city’s volume of manufactured and shipped products is due to oil refining companies. The leaders of the chemical production are Ufaorgsintez OAO and Farmstandart – Ufa VITA.

By and large, the year has been successfully completed in such industries as manufacture of transport vehicles with UMPO OAO and Gidravlika UAP providing for the main growth in production and shipment. Bashkir trolleybus production plant OAO has increased the volume of shipped products by 73%. The company has manufactured 93 trolleybuses, thus exceeding the amount of vehicles produced in 2008 by 35 items.

As far as manufacture of electrical, electronic and optical equipment is concerned, high performance has been shown by UPPO FGUP, UZ Promsvyaz OAO, BETO OAO. For the first time in recent years increase in production has been shown by Ufa Factory of plastic-to-metal goods FGUP, while Elektroapparat UZ OAO, Ufimkabel OAO and Ufa Aggregate Production Enterprise FGUP decreased their production volume due to drop in consumer demand.

The largest rubber and plastics goods manufacturing company UZEMiK OAO has managed to retain its position on the Russian market as well as far and near abroad markets by holding organizational and technical activities on cost reduction and developing and manufacturing new items.

Positive results have been shown by machinery and equipment producing companies. Thus, one of the largest companies in this field Korporatsiya Uraltekhnostroy OOO has increased the volume of shipped products and performed services by almost 40%.
