Ufa Chooses 2010 Bashkortostan Teacher of the Year

The Bashkortostan Teacher of the Year annual contest started in Ufa on Monday, April 5. More than 120 exceptionally skilled and dedicated teachers from the regions and towns of Bashkortostan have gathered in Ufa to demonstrate their excellence in teaching.

In the framework of the 2010 Bashkortostan Teacher of the Year contest, two separate contests are being held that is the 2010 Bashkortostan Teacher of the Russian Language and Russian Literature and 2010 Bashkortostan Teacher of the Tatar Language and Tatar Literature.

The first round of the contest includes presentation of an innovative pedagogical project, exchange of teaching experience and demonstration lessons. This round will define 15 semi-finalists in each contest who will participate in the second round that will start on Saturday, April 10. The teachers will have to give master-classes, deliver a public lecture and take part in a debate.

Winners of the contests will be named at the closing ceremony that will take place on April 13th in the Bashkir State Academic Drama Theatre n.a. Mazhit Gafuri.

The winner of the Bashkortostan Teacher of the Year Contest will represent the republic in the competition for the 2011 All-Russia Teacher of the Year.
